Ringwood School Main Hall has replaced its tiered seating with a BRAND NEW automated seating solution. There is still time for you to be part of this exciting project by SPONSORING one or more of the new chairs.

Why was the new seating necessary?

They are stylish, comfortable, hardwearing and safe. The current chairs have reached the end of their life span.

They can be installed and packed away again at the press of a button – a busy school needs flexible seating options and the old seating takes up to 3 people up to 3 hours to move which means that the hall is out of action when it could be in use for events, exams and other important occasions.

Each year, Ringwood School hosts approximately 40 different kinds of events where the school hall is needed.

We estimate that over 14,500 people visit the hall annually. That’s a lot of bums on seats! There is a whole host of events which bring in members of the wider community as well as the students, parents and sta of the school. These include Ringwood Musical & Dramatic Society Shows, Careers Conventions, Brockenhurst College Adult Education events and Swish of the Curtain shows.

Comments from our supporters…

Head of Music Lindsay Himmel says “We always know it is a special school event when the tiered seating is out! Performers rise to the occasion, and students watching performances feel they have enjoyed a real ‘theatre’ experience. It is also a privilege to sit on the tiered seating to enjoy performances by other groups who use the space, like an RMDS show. The tiered seating helps transform the school hall into a real theatre.”
